Waiting patiently

Hi
I am patiently awaiting the delivery of a 'Mountfield Dolls House' which I was able to purchase at a redued rate from a lovely lady on ebay.

My Grandparents lived in a similar style house and I want to fill it with decor and items from 1950s to 1970s. I have been researching styles etc on the internet. My Nan and Grandads was very much filled with all sorts, nothing really matched from what I remember. Wall papers will be most probably 60s onwards to 70s but furniture will be possiby odd 40s and 50s onwards.

Fingers crossed the house arrives soon so I can do a dry build and get a feel for it.

The external decor will be quite different to the way in which most people have decorated theirs. No.17 was pebbledashed all over and the front door was painted green with cream inner detail. the french doors were painted green with white surround frame. The roof was tiled with red tiles and there was a very narrow course of bicjs around the base of the property. I will need to experiment with pebbledash to see if I can make it myself. If not I will be buying some as I don not want to mess it up.

This house will be a long term project for me. I will possibly alter the door so that there are french dooors at the back but it will depend on how thsi will affect the property.

Oh well , thats it for now. Pictures next time
